Map One

Part One of the book is located around the trading town of Belshakar. After Anya and her companions have taken the Pirate Ship, they sail into Belshakar and sell all of the treasure and the ship itself. Anya buys a villa and lives happily there for 6 months before the arrival in port of a mysterious ship.

Anya later travels to the stone circle to perform a sorcerous ceremony which has disasterous consequenses for her.

Map Two

Quest for a Sorceror

Part Two of the book has Anya taking a journey to the City of Rem ak Desh to find the great sorceror, Gweledydd Mawr. She and her companion are hired as guards by merchants on a group of barges taking goods down the River Ixus. They must get to the town of Valaria before crossing the wasteland to Rem ak Desh.

But during the journey a plot to murder one of the merchants is discovered.
